My Mom Giulia has been working on a tiny scale recently,  crocheting all sorts of cute objects, she has gone 3D and crocheted a pale blue ball, while I am furiously crocheting away a green bag to carry about crafty projects.

Here is one of the small crocheted bags Mom has created. The thread is made of shreaded nylon tights,…a few years ago she crocheted a fairly large mat and it was a fun and useful item.

I think we will try to dye one of these bags, they actually resemble more baskets,…

Tights once cut in thin threads are great to knit headbands, so eco-chic!

Garden I September 1, 2008

From crochet to felting: I adore felting, such a versatile,  and quite impredictable medium! I have started felting quite recently, I love the possiblity to blend fibers, it is like painting a watercolour with fibers! I especially like felting because it gives that ethereal and atmospheric feel to the finished piece.

This experiment was inspired by my sketches I drew in the gardens at the University campus. The work is a combination of a layers of fibers that have gone through the needle bonding machine and then I applied fibers by using the spiky long needle.

I am planning to felt some old woolen bits in the washing machine and then stitch some decorative pattern.

Oh! Just one more thing: I have joined a wonderful and inspiring online creative Ning community of fiber artists and enthusiasts who work mainly with felt, check out the website:
